For our first weekly "Positive Post", I have found a hopeful horse story. I wanted to give everyone some news that's different from some of the bringing-down tragic happenings you may hear about. This real equine story takes us further south to the wonderful state of Texas. You most likely have heard of country music star, Willie Nelson. He owns a horse farm, in Texas, where his equines roam over acres of pasture land. Although, these horses aren't regular herd members....
They are rescue horses! These horses, all 70 in fact, were tragically destined to be sent to a slaughterhouse. Willie Nelson stopped this before this terrible action could be taken any further. Today, the horses love to roam Willie's 700 acre farmland, enjoying the hand fed meals Nelson provides them with daily. The Country Star's mission has just began with rescuing these precious creatures. He told KSAT during his recent interview that his ongoing rescue project has influenced the name of Nelson's Spicewood farm, "Lucky Ranch". What an amazing thing this star did to help the wonderful species of horses. A big thank you to widely known country music performer, WILLIE NELSON!!!
Thank you for joining me today with this post, and I hope this story is as inspiring and promising as it was to me when I first heard it. I would love to hear your guy's questions; those who ask will have their question answered in the next post. Tell me what you think about my posts, too. Is there something with a horse topic you want me to spotlight? Is there something you want to learn about? Remember, questions and comments are always welcome. People sharing their input could make for a more interesting and sophisticated blog.
I loved reading the uplifting story! i would love to read more of them.
